Your first call, step by step

Open Hades before you join the meeting, pick your audio, click Start Call and join the meeting as usual. At the end, click End call.

Updated on

The order is always the same: open Hades first, click Start Call, and only then join the meeting. Hades doesn't join the meeting with you: no bot shows up in the participant list and your prospect has nothing to install or accept. It sits in a narrow window on top of your screen, on your monitor only, listening and coaching you.

Before the first time: two things on the dashboard

  • Business DNA filled in. It's what the AI reads about your company, your pricing and your objections. Without it the coaching comes out generic. See how to fill in your Business DNA.
  • Hades installed on your computer. If you haven't yet, see installing Hades.

Set up the call (under a minute)

  1. Open Hades from the Windows Start menu. If it asks, sign in with the same email and password you use on the dashboard. Tick Remember me on this computer so you don't type it again next time.
  2. Under Call context, pick the Client (if it already exists on the dashboard) and, if you want, search for or type the Prospect name. Both are optional — they tie the call to the right history and keep names from being duplicated. You can leave them blank on a one-off call. If you want to jot something down at the last minute about this meeting, use Quick notes.
  3. Under AI guides the call, leave it on No the first time. On Yes, the window gets an extra panel with the stage of the meeting and the next question to ask — it's great, but it's more to read while you're still getting used to it.
  4. If the Record the call field shows up, leave it on No the first time. It only records the meeting video if you pick Meeting window only or Entire screen — see recording the meeting.
  5. On the Ready for the call card, pick Your microphone (the one you use in meetings).
  6. Under Call audio (the client's voice), leave System audio. That's how Hades hears the client: straight from the sound coming out of your speakers or headphones, without touching anything in Zoom, Meet or Teams.
  7. Click Start Call.

During the meeting

  1. After Start Call, the big Hades screen gives way to a narrow window that stays on top of everything. At the top of it you'll see a dot and the word listening.
  2. Join the meeting the way you always do (Meet, Zoom, Teams, doesn't matter). You don't have to share your screen, invite anyone or install anything in the meeting.
  3. Talk normally. What you and the client say shows up written in the Transcript area of the window, a few seconds behind.
  4. When Hades has something to say, a card appears in the Guidance area: one line of title and what to do right now. An amber (yellow-orange) card is an objection or a risk — read that one first. Missed a piece of guidance that went by? The ‹ › arrows next to Guidance go back through the last 10.
  5. Need the window out of the way? Press Ctrl + Shift + H to hide it and again to bring it back. It stays on your monitor and doesn't travel with your screen share.

What every part of that window means is in what you see on screen during the call.

End the call and get the analysis

  1. When the meeting is over, click End call, in the corner of the window. The button turns red and asks you to Confirm — click again. (That's what keeps you from ending the call by accident mid-conversation.)
  2. The big Hades screen comes back with the Analyzing the call... card. It takes a few seconds. Don't close the app at that point — if you try, it warns you the analysis is still running.
  3. When Analysis ready shows up, you get the summary and the next steps right there. Click See full analysis to open the whole meeting on the dashboard.
  4. Answer How did it end? with one click (Won, Lost, Moved forward, Follow-up or No decision). That's what makes Hades learn from your meeting — see logging the outcome.
  5. During the beta you'll also get How was this call?, with 9 quick rating questions. It takes under a minute and it's what tunes the product to the way you sell.

Something went wrong along the way

  • The transcript doesn't show up, or only shows what I say — see Hades isn't hearing the meeting.
  • Call too short to analyze — the conversation had fewer than two turns. That's not an error; a 10-second test call lands here.
  • Analyzed, but didn't save to the dashboard — the analysis is on your screen, but the meeting won't show up on the dashboard. Click Try again.
  • Couldn't analyze — the transcript is saved on your computer, nothing was lost. Click Try again; if it keeps failing, message us on the chat below.
