Signing in to Hades and recovering your password
How to sign in to the dashboard and the app with your email and password, what to do when you forget it or the link expires, where to change it later, and why the app opens on one computer at a time.
Updated on
You sign in to Hades with the email and password of your account, and it's the same account on the dashboard (in your browser) and in the computer app. The sign-in screen has no sign-up: if you don't have an account yet, it shows a link, See the plans.
Signing in to the dashboard
- Open the Hades website in your browser and go to the sign-in page,
/entrar. - Type your Email and click Sign in. Typed it wrong? Click change, next to it.
- Type your Password and click Sign in again. You land on the dashboard.
Remember me on this computer starts unchecked. Unchecked, the session ends when you close the browser; checked, you keep signing in on your own. Check it only on your own computer, never on a shared one.
If the screen shows a Sign in with Google button, it only works for people who already have an account with that email. A Google account with no Hades account comes back with This Google account has no Hades account, and you sign in with email and password.
Signing in to the computer app
- Open Hades. On the sign-in screen, type your Email and Password.
- Check Remember me on this computer if you want to sign in on your own next time. The app doesn't keep your password, only the session, protected by Windows.
- Click Sign in to Hades.
The Open dashboard button opens the dashboard in your browser, already signed in to this account. To sign out, use Sign out in the app, or, on the dashboard, click your photo (or your initials) at the bottom of the left menu and choose Sign out.
Forgot my password
- On the sign-in screen, after typing your email, click Forgot my password. In the app, the link sits just below the password field and opens a page in your browser, with your email already filled in.
- Check the email and click Send link.
- Open the email that arrives and click the link. The Create a new password page opens. If a Continue button shows up, click it first.
- Type the new password twice (at least 8 characters) and click Save password and sign in.
The screen gives the same answer whether or not the account exists, on purpose. So if the email doesn't arrive, the first suspect is an email typed wrong.
The link didn't work, or the email never arrived
- This link has expired or was already used. The link is valid for a short time and works only once. Some email and messaging programs open links on their own to check they're safe, and that can use it up before you do. Click Request a new link (or go back to Forgot my password) and use the most recent email.
- This link is incomplete. The address got cut off when copied. Open the email again and click the link straight from it.
- The email never arrived. Wait a few minutes and check your spam folder. If it still doesn't show, ask again, checking the address.
- Too many attempts in a row. Wait a minute and try again. If you see I couldn't send the link right now, try again in a few minutes.
- Nothing worked? The help chat only opens for people who are signed in, so it can't help here. Talk to the person on the Hades team who set you up.
Changing your password or email after you're in
- On the dashboard, click your photo (or your initials) at the bottom of the left menu and choose Profile.
- In the Password box, fill in Current password, New password and Confirm new password (at least 8 characters) and click Change password. The screen confirms with Password changed.
- To change your email, use the Email box: write the New email and your Current password, then click Change email. Hades sends a confirmation link to the new address, and the change only takes effect after you click it.
If the Current password doesn't match, the screen says Wrong current password. Then the way forward is Forgot my password, above.
If you were invited: creating your password
People who join the team by invitation get an email with a link. It opens the You've been invited page, where you set your password with Save password and sign in. If you see This invite link has expired or has already been used, ask whoever invited you to send another. The side of the person inviting is in Adding someone from my team.
One account, one computer at a time
The computer app only works in one place at a time with the same account. The dashboard in your browser isn't part of this rule: you can have the dashboard and the app open together.
- You signed in to the app on another computer: the new one takes the account, and the first one shows Your Hades account was opened on another computer. It can only be used in one place at a time — sign in again to take it back.
- The other computer is on a call: the new sign-in is refused with Your account is on a call right now on another computer. End the call there and sign in again here. Nobody gets dropped in the middle of a meeting.
- The other computer froze or lost its internet: the account frees itself in about 90 seconds. If you clicked Sign out or closed the app, it's released right away.
- Every person on the team needs their own login. See Adding someone from my team.
